The business was established back in 1987 by the current owner, David Banfield.  The Maids was the first company in the UK to operate a Professional Home Cleaning Service in teams.  We currently operate in the three main areas of Reading, Henley-on-Thames & Oxford.  This includes all surrounding villages (click the button below to see our service area map).

In 2011 The Maids Agency Ltd was formed after restructuring to become an agent for Self-Employed professional cleaners.  This has dramatically changed the format of the business to become very efficient and smooth running.  It is very strong at being able to adapt to last-minute changes and being extremely flexible.  Our contractors are fully committed to providing a caring and reliable service, far more so than ever achieved with salaried employees.  We are a small and friendly hands-on company operating locally with NO franchise arrangements.
